Born in the Niger Delta State of Bayelsa, south-south
Nigeria, Dennis O. Sami, is the Editor-in-chief/Publisher of
Nigerian Newsworld magazine. The publication is a
general interest weekly news magazine with strong bias in
political reporting.
A
journalism graduate, Sami acquired extensive professional
experience in media practice within and outside Nigeria before
setting up his weekly magazine.
Sami
holds post-graduate qualifications in advertising and public
relations and has travelled to many countries including the
United States and Britain.
In
addition to running a thriving publishing outfit, Sami is a
social critic and public affairs commentator.
He is Senior
Special Assistant to the Governor of Bayelsa State in Media and
Community Relations.
Sami belongs
to several professional bodies like Nigeria Union of
Journalists, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Nigerian
Institute of Public Relations, etc. He is Fellow of the
Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria.
He took
Nigerian Newsworld from its humble beginnings to join the
league of top- flight Nigerian magazines and was named 2006
Magazine Publisher of the Year by the FCT Abuja Council of
Nigeria Union of Journalists.
Sami is a
lover of sports. His hobbies include golf, table tennis,
swimming and is a member of the elite Ibrahim Babangida
International Golf, Abuja.
